Weddings at the Historic Village

Now booking for 2009 and 2010

The Chapel InteriorSimple in its beauty and understated elegance, the Chapel in the Historic Village of Allaire has become one of the most popular wedding spots at the Jersey shore.  For nearly two hundred years, this early 19th century church, listed on the National Register of Historic Sites, has played host to thousands of weddings, including that of Thomas Andrews and his betrothed, Maria Haggerty Allaire, James P. Allaire’s own daughter.

The Chapel, decorated in period colors with rich beige walls and white trim, light oak flooring and pews and just a hint of blue on the altar, sets a neutral backdrop that compliments any bride’s color scheme.  The pristine setting of Allaire State Park and the Historic Village of Allaire make the perfect setting for wedding photos as well.

Chapel ExteriorClimate controlled and ADA compliant with a ramp for those who might be physically challenged, the Chapel is available for weddings, christenings and baptisms, memorial and church services.  For more information, please contact the Wedding Coordinator Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at (732) 919-3500 and let the Historic Village of Allaire help to make your Special Day a much more memorable one.

Costumed interpreters in period dress will be on hand to host your wedding and see to any special needs or requirements that you or your guests may have.

The popularity of the Chapel is self evident with marriages taking place over more than just a single generation – mothers to daughters, fathers to sons, aunts to nieces and nephews.  With this in mind, the Village’s Wedding Coordinator is now booking reservations for 2009 and 2010 with a “wait list” for 2011.  Don’t miss an opportunity to become a part of the Historic Village of Allaire.

Easily accessible to the Garden State Parkway, Interstate 195 and Highways 34 and 35, the Chapel in the Historic Village of Allaire is in close proximity to a vast number of banquet facilities, hotels, restaurants and shopping.  Within 60 miles of New York, Atlantic City and Philadelphia, the Historic Village of Allaire is conveniently located near public transportation and the Allaire Airport.

FAQ’s

●    What is the schedule of available times?

Available times are dependent upon the parks closing time.  Generally, from early March through late October the Chapel schedule reflects 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM, 12:00 Noon – 1:30 PM, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM.  However, from early November to early March, the 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM time period is eliminated due to the parks 4:30 closing.

●    What is the Chapel’s maximum capacity?

The Chapel, with 11 pews on each side of the isle, seats a maximum of 100 people.

●    Are there reception facilities available at the Historic Village of Allaire?

Reception facilities are not available at Allaire State Park or the Historic Village itself. However, your Wedding Coordinator is able to suggest several close-by reception venues.  Additionally, park rules require that no alcoholic beverages be brought into the Park at any time.

●    Does the Historic Village of Allaire provide an officiant to perform ceremonies?

The Village does not have a resident officiant.  You may use an officiant of your choice but if needed, we will provide a list of practiced officiants for your convenience.
