 The Allaire Village Auxiliary is the backbone of Allaire Village, Inc. Without the dedicated members of the Auxiliary many of the historic and educational programs presented at the Historic Village at Allaire would not be possible. The Auxiliary provides hostesses for weddings at the Historic Allaire Chapel, helps to supply volunteer staff for many of the fundraising events at the Historic Village and oversees the decorating of the Village for the Holiday Season.
Every year the Auxiliary also presentS their major fundraiser, the Annual Stocking Stuffer Sale. Held in the in the all-purpose meeting hall just off the Allaire State Park parking lot, visitors to the Stocking Stuffer Sale will enjoy shopping for holiday crafts, hand-made by the Allaire Auxiliary members. Browse tables filled with hand-knit items, toys, pencil dolls, hand sewn crafts, package decorations, Christmas tree ornaments and a large selection of gift ideas for the holiday season. Too busy to bake? Home-made baked goods, cookies, cupcakes and brownies will also be available. Buy your holiday baked goods here at the Stocking Stuffer Sale.
While you are here you can also enjoy holiday shopping at the 168-year-old Howell Works General Store, splendidly decorated for the season and featuring a large selection of gift ware, books, reproduction pottery, glassware, tin ware, ironware and woodwork, including items hand-made by our 19th century craft guilds. Also featured are Old World Christmas tree ornaments and special order nutcrackers and smokers.
 A Holiday visit to the Historic Village at Allaire would not be complete without a stop at the Howell Works Bakery where the shelves are filled with fresh baked breads, brownies and other delights. A cup of hot mulled cider or a glass of lemonade goes perfect with fresh baked cookies, or as we call them in the 19th Century, flat cakes.
After shopping at the Stocking Stuffer Sale, feel free to wander the streets of the Historic Village, decorated for the Autumn Holidays. Pay a call on the Company Foreman, Jacob Johnson and his wife Sarah Jane or drop in to see the Works General Manager James Parshal Smith and his wife Elizabeth. Watch the blacksmiths and carpenters hard at work, preparing for the Holiday Season, while they explain their roles at the Howell Works Company. Visit our latest interpretive site, the Carriage House and Stage Depot where our collection of 19th Century vehicles is proudly displayed. No outing to the Historic Village would be complete without a tour of James Allaire's home as the Allaire Family prepares for the holidays.
