Release the Ducks!
Its Ducky
Derby Time…

The “Ducky Derby” was such a success last year and so much fun, that the Historic Village at Allaire will be hosting the Fourth Annual “Ducky Derby”!  This year there are three ways to participate in the Ducky Derby!  This year’s the “Ducky Derby” will have more fun events so the entire family can participate and cheer for their favorite duck.

For Corporate Sponsors and adults, there will be five heat races and the winners of those five races will compete in the final winner’s race to see which duck will bring home the grand prize of $500 in gift certificates.  There will also be a loser’s race, where the losers from each of the five heats will compete for the biggest loser award.  Ducks are available for adoption by calling the Allaire Village office at 732-919-3500.  The cost of a duck is a $100 tax-deductible contribution to Allaire Village Incorporated.

DERBYAllaire Village Incorporated is a 501C3 non-profit corporation registered in the State of New Jersey.  All funds from this event will benefit the educational and interpretive programs at Allaire Village Incorporated.  All entrants will receive a certificate of authenticity, a letter stating that they have made a tax-deductible contribution and after the race their very own duck that raced in the competition (all ducks are plastic).

For children, we have the “Ducky Splash”!  Kids can purchase a duck for $3.00 and race their duck to win prizes – every child wins a prize and can keep their duck.  For children ages 2 – 5 years, we have the “Lucky Ducky”!  Children can purchase, for $3.00, the opportunity to ‘fish’ for a duck.  Each duck has a prize and children can keep their duck, too!  What a great day of fun for everyone!

This will be a day of family fun with FREE face painting, animal balloons, games, and lots of “Ducky Derby” fun (face painting and animal balloons are subject to availability)  The event runs from 1 pm until 4 pm near the Mill Pond.  While at the “Ducky Derby”, visitors are welcome to visit the various historic buildings in the Village.

DUCK DERBYAllaire Village Incorporated presents this fun-filled family event.  Allaire Village Incorporated is licensed to operate the 40-acre, Historic Village at Allaire, site of James P. Allaire’s Howell Iron Works Company in the 1830s.  Allaire Village Incorporated is entirely supported through private donations, membership fees, fund raising events and patronage of our retail.

The Historic Village at Allaire is located in Allaire State Park on Route 524 or 4265 Atlantic Avenue, on the border of Wall Township and Farmingdale, N.J. 07727.  The Historic Village at Allaire is located off Exit 98 of the Garden State Parkway and off Exit 31-B of Interstate 195, follow the signs to Allaire State Park.
